  智力游戏

  Part3

  Do Chinese people like puzzles

I think Chinese people like to play intelligence games. In ancient times, there were tangram, chess and so on. These are classic games that have been handed down to the present day. Nowadays many young people are keen on playing Lego, building blocks and other various kinds of games. In recent years, there are also some new games to exercise our thinking ability, such as script killing, werewolf killing etc. We also have some traditional festivals that integrate intelligence games. For example, during the Lantern Festival, we have a unique folk cultural activity to guess lantern riddles, which is pretty interesting.

Why parents let their children play puzzles

Undoubtedly, first of all puzzles can act as an ideal channel and platform to release children's stress and kill the boring time. in addition, the puzzles give their kids a golden chance to step away from electronic devices, which is an absolute blessing. secondly, puzzles can lighten up one’s mood. Meanwhile, the puzzles do a great job in stimulating children’s imagination, creativity and eager for study.

Which kinds of puzzle can improve intelligence

Most of puzzles can improve people's intelligence especially for the young. To be more specific, different puzzles can foster different abilities such as observing objects, coordinating hands and eyes, solving the problem and reading as well as spelling. In fact, many experiments have proved that doing puzzles can sharpen their minds and improve their intelligence. For example, building blocks can exercise people's spatial imagination, while Sudoku and other digital games can exercise people's logical thinking and quick reaction ability.

Why are detective stories attractive to people?

There is no doubt that curiosity is the nature of all the humans. Therefore, when people hear about some detective stories, most of them intend to get to the bottom of the mystery no matter how much time and efforts they dedicate to it and they really enjoy the process of finding correct answers or figure out the problems. When they solve the puzzle that has been plaguing them for long times, they would gain great sense of achievement and satisfaction, which is the reason why people are attracted by the detective stories.

Which do you think is better? a detective movie or its original novel?

As far as I'm concerned, I prefer to watch detective films, because when I was in college and the curriculum was tight, it was very difficult for me to have a lot of free time to read an original book to explore its mysteries. But detective films can condense a thick original book into about two hours of film plot, which makes me experience a process of exploring mysteries in a short time, Detective films can also show details from sound and picture angles, and all of these can make me feel more mysterious about the story.
