雅思口语5月-8月热题 ——Flower话题分析

　　各位烤鸭们，在上一个季度，雅思口语出现了tree这个话题，很多学生不知道该怎么说，然后在今年五月到八月的雅思口语考试中，一个更棘手的话题flower出现了。虽然题目难，但是加以准备还是可以有对策的，接下来我们来看看怎么回答这个话题。

　　这个话题有以下的小问题：

　　1.What kinds of flowers do you know?

　　2.Are there any flowers that have special meanings in China?

　　3.Have you sent flowers to others?

　　看到这个小问题，有些同学比较崩溃，感觉自己唯一会的和花的种类有关的词就是rose……，于是90%的学生第一个小问题回答的都是这样的答案：

　　“I don't know a lot of things about flowers. I think the only kind of flower I know is rose. It is the symbol of love.” 如果你想impress 一下你的考官，其实应该扩充一些和flower有关的表达，今天就由小编来为大家普及一些和flower话题有关的英语词汇。

　　使用恰当的表达

　　首先，我们来看一个词，florist意思是花卉爱好者，不论同学们是花卉爱好者，还不是花卉爱好者，都可以用在自己的表达中。

　　你可以说：

　　I am a florist, so I know a thing or two about flowers. (大家注意哦，know a thing a two 是对某事或者某物很了解的意思)

　　或 I am not a florist, so I can just name a few kinds of flower.

　　扩充表达

　　积累与话题相关的词汇

　　其次呢，再给大家介绍一些常见的花的英文词汇。

　　peony 牡丹

　　lotus 莲花

　　plum blossom 梅花

　　chrysanthemum 菊花

　　daisy 小雏菊

　　lily百合

　　康乃馨(carnation)

　　当你学会这些词以后，第一个问题你不会尴尬的只说出一个rose了。第二个问题你也可以用这些词进行一些拓展了。当然，为了更好的答好第二个问题你还需要再会一些其他的词汇。

　　比如莲花的纯洁，应该有purity来表达，出淤泥而不染可以说uncontaminated.

　　比如梅花的坚韧不拔和正直，可以说persistence and integrity.

　　比如牡丹是国花(national flower)，象征着财富和幸福(fortune and happiness)。

　　所以现在第二个问题你可以这样答：

　　“Of course, there are many flowers in China that have special meanings. Like peony, considered as our national flower. It means good fortune and happiness. What’s more, lotus is also very famous in China, and it symbolizes the purity of heart, indicating that people can keep themselves uncontaminated in society.”

　　第三个话题的还是比较好答的，除了很多同学会说在情人节(Valentine's day)送玫瑰，也可以说母亲节给妈妈送过康乃馨。(PS: 大家要注意情人节这个词的发音哈，很容易读错。)

　　第三个题可以这样答：

　　“Definitely yes, what I think is that I sent some roses to my girl friend on Valentine’s day several times. You know, rose is the symbol of romance, so it is not uncommon for Chinese people to give others roses that day. Besides, on Mother’s day, I bought a bunch of carnations to my mom to show my gratitude to her.”
