　　Describe a person who helps others in their spare time.

　　You should say:

　　Who this person is

　　How often this person helps others

　　How and why this person helps others

　　And how you feel about this person

　　There are many caring people that I have known in my life and my grandfather is surely one of them. The impact he had on my life is really quite incredible.

　　He was fairly tall and buff man. Even though he was more than 70 years old, he had almost no wrinkles on his face, and his warm smile always made him very approachable. He was the most warm-hearted person that I have ever known - he taught me to be a kind man and never treat others badly or with sly intention, even when we feel we have been treated in that way ourselves.

　　Well, as far as I can remember, my grandpa was almost never home. He was always occupied in the community helping new neighbors move, delivering people’s mails and even solving disputes between couples by giving them advice and helping them solve their personal issues. He was always happy when he could solve problems for others. He never wanted anything in return, and he just really enjoyed the process I guess.

　　I think the way he cared about people also had a positive influence on my attitude towards life. I used to be so spoilt and self-centered, never cared about anyone or anything. And I had almost no friends during my childhood basically because of that. However, he taught me and helped me to correct the weak link in my personality and now I tend to treat people around me with kindness, love and patience for the most part.

　　Even though my grandpa passed away 16 years ago, the impact he had on me is most certainly going to last my whole life.
