  A类大作文

  【作文题目】

In modern world, it is no longer necessary to use animals for food or products, for instance, clothing and medicine. To what extent do you agree or disagree?

Animals have been used for food and products since the very beginning of human civilization. Nowadays, however, many argue that it is no need to kill or harm the animals for the sake of human interest. This view makes sense for me.

It should be acknowledged that using animals brings about much convenience to people’s life. Livestock food products provide people with diverse nutrients such as calcium and protein, which are indispensable components of a balanced diet. Animals are also useful for medical research and treatment. Animal testing is still an efficient way to guarantee the safety and effectiveness of newly developed drugs.

However, a vegetarian diet has been proved more healthy as it contains rich vitamins and trace elements, and the insufficiency of protein and fat can be supplemented by nuts and some synthetic products. As for by-products like clothes, modern technology has enabled us to produce a variety of man-made materials, which are nothing short of animal products. Even for the sake of curing illness, animals are not irreplaceable. Many substitutes have been developed to achieve the same effect of the ingredients extracted from animals.

Moreover, from the ethical prospective, abusing animals should never be tolerated. Taking the shark fin for example, to satisfy the appetite of humankind, sharks are captured brutally and endlessly, which has aroused international indignation. Those profit-seekers forget that animals, like us human beings, have an equal right to live on Earth. Additionally, taking a mother’s life could mean despair and death for the babies. If we humans claim that we are superior to animals, shouldn’t we show more respect and sympathy for life.

Therefore, it is reasonable and feasible to put an end to animal use as animals are our cohabitants rather than possessions. Only when we treat animals as friends can we and our generations appreciate the harmony and creature diversity of our homeland.
