　　一次被延迟的重要旅行

　　Describe an important journey that has been delayed

　　Where you would like to go

　　A couple of months ago, just a week before the celebration of Chinese Lunar New Year, I had to delay my trip to Nanjing, which is a capital city of Jiangsu Province. It’s actually not far away from the city I’m currently living in, I mean, it’s like 2 hours drive from my city.

　　Why the journey was important

　　Well, this journey actually meant a lot to me. I mean, if this trip hadn’t got delayed, it would have been the very first time for my family and I to visit that ancient city. We had planned to spend several days there, you know, to spend the holiday as well as to enjoy some quality time.

　　What caused the delay

　　Unfortunately, the trip got delayed indefinitely due to the outbreak of coronavirus, a horrible pandemic swept basically every part of my country just before the festive season. Instead of going out and having a trip or something, people had to say at home all day long or you know, get quarantined for as long as we need to, which was actually something I had never experienced before.

　　What happened in the end

　　As to what happened in the end, well, obviously we had to cancel all our tickets and hotel reservation as required. At first, we felt so disappointed because we had expected this trip for such a long time and each of my family member was really looking forward to it. Yet the silver lining was that we got to stay at home and ended up having a good time with families. I even learnt how to bake a cake with my mom by using the rice cooker rather than an oven!
