　　It is not uncommon in some public places, such as subway, train station and anywhere else to see most of pedestrians and patrons completely immersed in what happening on the small screen of their smart phone, regardless of what really happens around. Some people think this behavior is viewed as an odd and anti-social one and should be prohibited by comparison with smoking. However, I cannot concur with this view.

　　From my perspective, sometimes smart phone makes users, especially teenagers disconnect the interaction to one another and this looks anti-social. Quite a few young people pretend to use their phone in order to avoid face to face contact and spend most of their time on reading through the smart phone screen and eliminate almost all intimacy of communication. This is what some one called ‘social barrier’. However, instead of making a phone call, one can simply type their messages and send them instantly to communicate with their friends. And because of the possibility of accessing internet, smart phone has opened up a virtual world where one can communicate with others in a wide spectrum, which has enriched interaction. So, not to be an anti-social stigma, online chatting has become an emerging type of communication which is very different from the past.

　　Compared with smoking which is proved to be damaging to human bodies and should be banned in public places, the use of smart phone is criticized in the realm of morality or technique problem not mortality one. Audience are required to turn off their phones or mute them when appreciating classical concert. This is not because of the detrimental effects on health but of virtue problem that may destroy the atmosphere. Other prohibition of mobile phone is relevant to its technique problems which might disturb the signals transmitted from stations, such as gas station and other places.

　　In conclusion, there is an irony to ban mobile phone in modern society since it has transformed human interaction style and has become an integral part of our life. This is also a blatantly implausible to analogize smart phone using to smoking.
